Get a commercial carrier permit

There are 2 types of permits

Regular permits

• These are issued at the Whitehorse or the Watson Lake weigh station.
• You have to pay a fee, which may be different depending on the permit.
• All permits must be paid for when issued.
• You can pay for your permit with Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or cash.

Special permits

• There is no fee for these permits.
• Read further about these under Highways Act Regulations, section 23(3).

How to get a special permit

1. Complete the Non-TAC Configuration Permit form.
2. Submit your form at either the Whitehorse or the Watson Lake weigh station.

3. If your application is approved, you can pick up your permit at the Whitehorse Weigh Station.
