Who can apply?
- First Nations
- municipal governments
- registered non-profit organizations in good standing
- community associations
- school councils
Which projects qualify?
We fund fuel-reduction projects in greenbelts and undeveloped natural growth areas.
We don't fund projects on private property or land associated with private use and enjoyment.
When do I apply?
You can apply for FireSmart funding between January 1 and February 28 each year.
How do I apply?
Contact the FireSmart and Fuels Management Specialist by phone (867-332-8657) or email (FireSmart@yukon.ca) to find out if your project can qualify for FireSmart funding.
We will notify you in August if your project has been approved for funding. Projects can begin once funding agreements are in place.
