Forest Resources Act review summary

This document gives an overview of the Forest Resources Act review. Among many things, it explains:

• why the review is happening;
• what the working group’s proposed changes include; and
• the current status of the review process.

Since the working group last met, the Government of Yukon has been working to provide industry with support to address firewood supply challenges. Although firewood supply is not directly captured in these recommendations, the amendments address many forest sector aspects and may support timber supply access. We welcome your feedback on these draft recommended changes.
