Find a forest resources management plan

Forest resources management plans are landscape-level plans, often covering an area greater than 1 million hectares. The plans provide direction on where forest management activities can occur.

Forest resources management plans identify:

  • the values people place on the forests;
  • traditional use;
  • heritage resources;
  • environmentally or culturally sensitive areas;
  • management zones and guidelines for what activities may occur; and
  • existing and proposed land uses that may affect forest resources management.

We develop these plans in collaboration with:

  • First Nations;
  • local governments;
  • renewable resources councils;
  • industry; and
  • other groups who have interests in forest resources.

We also invite the public to tell us how forest resources should be used.
