Statement from Premier Pillai on the European delegation visit

Premier and Minister of Economic Development Ranj Pillai has issued the following statement:

“Last week, our government was pleased to welcome a delegation of European diplomats to the Yukon. A special thanks to Consul General Marc Eichhorn from Germany for initiating this visit. I would also like to thank Consul General for Greece, Mr. Dimitrios Skoutas; Consul General for Ireland, Ms. Cathy Geagan; Consul General for Poland, Mrs. Aleksandra Kucy; Consul General for Portugal, Mr. João Paulo Costa; and Consul General for Switzerland, Mr. Thomas Schneider for making their first visits to the Yukon and participating in this important international exchange of ideas and community.

“During the visit, my Cabinet colleagues and I had the opportunity to share the many strengths of this incredible territory with the European delegation and discuss a range of areas where we share common interests. Not only did they meet with our government, but the delegation also met with the Yukon business community, the Yukon’s Commissioner and Yukon University.

“I was pleased to see the connections that the European delegation made with the Yukon business community during their visit. I see this as an opportunity to build strong business relations and pave the way for new partnerships, and I look forward to what the future holds.

“It is always an honour to share the beauty and unique spirit of the Yukon with visitors. We look forward to further strengthening our relationships with Europe as we collaborate on shared priorities and explore future opportunities. By working together, we can unlock new avenues for trade, investment, innovation, cultural exchange and, most importantly, foster deeper people-to-people ties.”
