Document description
The fonds primarily consists of black and white photographs taken along the Alaska Highway, and in Dawson City and Whitehorse. Many reflect scenes from the Alaska Highway during the mid to late 1940s, including photographs of buildings, planes, vehicles and people. There are also photographs of parades, a gathering of the Yukon Order of Pioneers in Dawson City, a Governor-General's visit to Dawson City, a giant northern mosquito, several people, including Barnes himself, and Barnes' home and office in Dawson. All of these photographs were probably taken between 1944 and 1950. There
are also 30 postcards, one of which Barnes sent to his mother.
