Get electrical permits and schedule inspections

Eligibility

• You're a homeowner and have successfully passed the homeowner's electrical test.
• You can only wire your principal residence. If the home or any portion is being used as a rental unit, you must hire an electrical contractor.
• You are a registered electrical contractor, hired to do the electrical work.

Apply for an electrical permit

1. Complete the electrical permit application.
2. Submit your completed application and the calculated fee.

Schedule an electrical inspection

Electrical contractors

Submit an electrical declaration form with the required information after each of the following stages for an inspection:

• rough-in wiring;
• service wiring; and
• final finish wiring.

We require 72 business hours notice before the requested inspection date.

Homeowners

Phone with your permit number for an inspection request at these stages:

• rough-in wiring;
• service wiring; and
• final finish wiring.
