The Rural Road Maintenance Program provides funding for road maintenance on eligible public residential roads in the Yukon. You can also request year-round maintenance for eligible roads.

Eligible roads
You can apply for funding if the road meets 1 of the following criteria.
- The road is not maintained under Schedule 1 of the Highways Act.
- The road is seasonally maintained under Schedule 1, and you’re requesting year-round maintenance.
- The road allows police cars, ambulances, fire trucks, school buses and maintenance equipment to pass safely.

Eligible applicants
You must own a seasonal or permanent residence or a business on the road.
Apply to the program
To submit an application, you must act as a spokesperson for 75 per cent the residents of the road.

After you’ve applied, staff will review your application. They’ll check if the road meets the requirements outlined in the program guidelines. Staff may contact you to request additional information.
