Get a gas fitter or contractor licence

Requirements

Gas fitter

We will issue a licence  if you:

  • have complied with the Trades Qualifications Regulations and hold a Trades Qualification Certificate as a gas fitter; or
  • hold an equivalent certificate of competency from another jurisdiction and successfully complete the Yukon liquid propane addendum examination at Government of Yukon Department of Education for Apprenticeship and Tradesperson Qualifications.

Apply for a licence

  • Contact us to get the gas fitter application form
  • Fill it out and submit the form
  • Pay the fee (the cost varies, depending on the class of licence)

Gas contractor

We will issue a licence  if you:

  • intend to engage in the business authorized by the licence;
  • furnish an insurance bond as required by the regulations; or
  • are a Yukon licensed gas fitter or employ a licensed gas fitter under the appropriate class of gas contractor licence.

  • Pay the fee (the cost varies, depending on the class of licence)
