We're working with Yukon First Nations to support residential school Survivors, their families and communities as they continue their healing journeys.
We recognize the lasting impact of the trauma caused by the residential school system on Survivors, their families and communities. Many different types of support are available within the territory.

Support for site investigations
The Yukon government continues to support the Yukon Residential School Missing Children Project in their efforts to bring to light and record the history and impacts of residential schools.
We're providing funding, alongside the Government of Canada, to the Project and we're available to the working group as they lead this important work. We'll assist, if requested, in ways that are respectful and support healing and reconciliation.
We recognize and respect the solemn nature of these discussions and this work. We'll take our lead from First Nations as their leaders and communities identify how they'd like to move forward with these investigations.
