Changing the Story to Upholding Dignity and Justice: Yukon’s Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit+ People Strategy
In 2020, the Yukon Advisory Committee on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S+) released a Yukon strategy on MMIWG2S+. The strategy is a response to Reclaiming Power and Place: The Final Report of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.
This strategy takes a whole-of-Yukon approach to addressing violence against Indigenous women, girls and Two-Spirit+ people in the territory.
The Yukon Advisory Committee on MMIWG2S+ has 3 co-chairs, each representing one of the following: the Government of Yukon, Yukon First Nations and Yukon Indigenous women's organizations.

In June 2019, the National Inquiry released Reclaiming Power and Place; The Final Report of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. The Final Report delivers 231 Calls for Justice directed at governments, institutions, social service providers, industries and all Canadians.
