We typically review applications within 30 business days. We'll confirm you've met all the legal requirements before we issue your licence.
We cannot process your application if you have not provided us with all the documentation we need.
A full licence allows you to:

- work to the full extent of Yukon regulations.
Eligibility
You're eligible to renew a full licence if:
- you hold a current full LPN licence for the Yukon; and
- you've met all continuing competency requirements.
Continuing competency requirements
Yukon’s Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) Regulation, O.I.C. 2010/113 requires LPNs to keep their knowledge and skills up to date. You must do this by fulfilling annual continuing competency requirements. These include a specific number of continuing education and professional practice hours.
You can only claim hours in your renewal application that you completed in the 4-year period before you submit your application.
Requirements
- A total of 1,000 professional practice hours.
- A minimum of 60 and no more than 300 of these 1,000 hours must be continuing education (CE) hours.
- Up to 300 of your 1,000 professional practice hours can be professional volunteer hours.
- The rest of your professional practice hours must be from professional employment activities within the LPN scope of practice.
