To declare that a business name is no longer in use, the person who filed the declaration of business name must file a notice with the registrar. They have up to 30 days after the business name is no longer in use to send a notice with the effective date of the change.

How to fill out the form
The information you provide must be legible.
Section 1: Business name
The name must match the name appearing on the declaration.
Section 2: Yukon registry number
Include the Yukon registry number.
Section 3: Date
Include the date the use of the business name stopped.
Section 4: Name of person using business name
Business registered under your personal name
If the business was registered under your personal name, fill out your:
- last name;
- 1st name; and
- your relationship to the entity.
When you’ve finished filling out the application, sign and date the form.
Business registered as an entity (partnership, corporation or society)
If the business name was registered by an entity, fill in:
- the name of the entity; and
- its Yukon registry number (the entity must be registered).
On the application, include your:
- 1st name; and
- last name.
When you’ve finished filling out the application, sign and date the form.
Deliver your documents to us
You can drop off forms at our office or in our secure drop box in the lobby.
When you put your forms in our secure drop box, you can include:
- cash;
- cheque; or
- a payment information form to contact you for credit card payments.

After we've accepted and filed all your documents, you'll receive a confirmation. The process can take up to 5 business days.
